DFTLab(Digital Film Technology Laboratory) is ACDN’s R & D facility. It is housed in Nangyang Technology University in Singapore.

DFTLab is formed to provide Research and Technology capability to support ACDN operation. It is responsible for all the hardware research and development from Digital Tape Recorder, DCI Compliance JPEG2000 Server, Massive Disk Storage Platform, On-line and Near Line Digital Archiving System, Multi-screen OLDA ( On Location Digital Advertising ). DFTLab also conduct research GPU and SPUR Engine in real time compression of JPEG2000 file, film restoration, conversion and transcoding, film data acquisition using CCD based film scanning technology, etc..

This is first lab in Asia dedicated to the research and development for digital film technology. We believe the technology is important in Asia for the distribution of content to a large venue of audience, such as theatre, auditorium, churches, community center, etc..DFTLab also fund a Master Student Scholarship with NTU, in Singapore to ensure our supply of talented researcher and good engineers.
