The subject matter that DFT will investigated or Projects Planned:

1. To help the industry to establish an open format, not a standard, that makes all digital film to inter-operate in different form over digital film servers. By working closely with the DCI in the US, we can help establish a format for Asian digital film to be distributed on all platforms.
2. To develop technology and application that is essential for mining these data once it is converted digitally from analog film and video tapes.
3. To research and develop an inexpensive high-resolution scanner that used air-gate and commercial digital camera technology to capture film without physically contacting it.
4. To develop new technology for real time color correction, and restoration.
5. To develop new technology for encoding, compression and encryption of these data so that it can be distributed efficiently and effectively.
6. To research in DRM and data integrity technology such as digital watermarking and tempering prevention technology.
7. To research and develop a low cost, high brightness and good color rendition projector for the large venue market.
8. To create new web base technologies that are needed for the mass audience to have access to these data.
